A Tuesday Treat, especially for you.

Boy have i got a treat for you. To make up for all the days i didn’t blog, Steve-o, yes that’s me, took the pain and effort to bring you not 1, but 2 Spanking new Wallpapers.

1. Cesc Fabregas – Midfield Maestro
He was the catalyst in midfield during our fantastic win in San Siro last week and is, i believe one of, if not the favourite player of all Gooners. Men want to be him and women want to have his babies. The wallpaper is made from one of his shots/passes during that match itself, although it wasn’t that match winning shot. So this is my homage to his brilliance, the brilliant Arsenal Player that he is.

2. Mathieu Flamini – Blood and Guts
Matty has been such a revelation this season and has displaced last season’s fan favourite, Gilberto Silva, as the defensive anchor. The title of the wallpaper is quite apt, ain’t it? Blood and guts all the time, he demands a 100% from himself every time he steps on the field for us. To go one better, he also tries to encourage the best out of everyone else around him. I really really like his attitude and it shows every match.

Click on the links (on the titles) below the pics to download them. I believe these are my best wallpapers yet and if you could give me feedback on them, it would be well appreciated. I spent quite some time doing them because i felt bad not being able to blog and give you something to read daily for the past 3 weeks (work, life and bullshit) so…this goes to show how much i love my fellow gooners.

I hope the 2 wallpapers will go some way to ease the slight disappointment of Sunday’s result. I mean, seriously now, be fair to the lads; they traveled back from Italy, have loads of players injured and although we might be on a high its not easy. You might argue that we have RVP and Toure back but they’ve been out for a while, especially RVP (bless him). Fuck the pitch issue tho, my take on it is that we had 3 clear chances but it was either due to fatigue or the lag from San Siro. The very first chance we created (Cesc’s brilliant through ball to Ade) should have and would have been a goal on any other day. Don’t get me wrong tho and look, Adebayor has been shouldering the scoring burden ever since RVP’s injury and we had Dudu (bless him) during January to ease the load a bit but we all know what happened to him.

Anyway, lets all sacrifice some young goat or whatever to hope against all damning odds that Derby can spring some sort of miracle and hold Yanited off…Ah fuck. Hopefully, i’ll have the mobile versions of the 2 wallpapers up for you soon and also something for you to read tomorrow. Fingers crossed and all that. Have a nice evening now.

*Note: The new wallpapers are only linked on this post but they should be loaded onto the wallpapers section soon enough, i need to clear out the kinks as that page is going cuckoo on me. Hold on tight then.

**Update – I’ve had enough time to fix the wallpaper section, you can go there to get the new wallpapers and also look at the old ones.

Who’s bringing Cescy back?

Still feeling heady from the now famous win over AC Milan? Me too. Every Gooner i know is pumped full of happy thoughts and stuff. Hopefully this will last for a long time and keep the retards out for a while.

Main focus so far, player-wise, is on Francesc Fabregas.

Almunia – “Age doesn’t matter when a player has the talent Cesc has,” said the Aluminum One. “He plays like a veteran. He will become a legend at Arsenal and has the capacity, skill and quality to be as good as Kaka, winning titles and becoming a great player.”

Damn straight. Hopefully, his bestest pals now, Hleb, Rosicky and Flamini will stay around for long time to come to form one of the best midfield 4somes the football world has ever seen. Hleb, who seems to love it at Arsenal as well should be staying for a bit. Flamini has been making the right noises so far to pen the new deal offered to him. Rosicky…Rosicky, Rosicky, i hope his muscle dystrophy (the last i remember) will be fixed in some operation or another.

Looking at those pictures above, its really gets me thinking how great it is to be an Arsenal fan. The players celebrate with such unbridled joy and passion and also recognizing their mentor, their sensei, their friend, Arsene Wenger who played a huge part in bringing this bunch of lads together.

Alright, thats the end of my free time right now. I should have not one, but TWO wallpapers lined up for you guys tomorrow. So stay tuned. Good bye?

We did it at San Siro! Milan 0 – 2 Arsenal!

Words fail me now… We did it against Meelan at San Siro and albeit a very tense 15 minutes in the first half, i believe most would agree with me that we did a good job. 0-2… i’m still rather pumped up, so forgive me if i’m not so coherent in the next few sentences.

So here i am, waiting for better photos from yahoo sports and editing them as fresh as they come.
One of our crucial players tonight was the man above, Mathieu Flamini. I think that he was tasked to keep Gattuso in his pocket, so that the Italian won’t be able to do much and influence the play. And Matty definitely kept Gattuso quiet.
Our defenders did put in a solid display as well, although i might argue that we were lucky on a few occasions when the ball did fall kindly to us. On that note, we made tackles higher up the pitch, in Meelan’s own half so we won’t give away too many dangerous freekicks. Spot on tactic, Arsene.
Cesc…our midfield maestro was in his element today, making great first half tackles and repeatedly got into good positions to dictate play. 2nd half you can see that he was more involved up front than back and of course that fucking paid off *huge grin*. Nonetheless, he helped alot in keeping a lid on Kaka, Meelan’s most dangerous player.
Look at those pictures…i’m getting goosebumps now, fucking hell. We waited for 84 minutes before the first goal came and what a goal it was!! It was totally unexpected because Ade was just ahead of him, Fab took a shot through the crowd and i think we woke the neighbours! (Was watching with 2 of my Gooner mates) Loved the celebration and love our lad, Francesc Fabregas, to bits! Siren wanted to have his baby after that goal…not surprising.
Cesc went straight to the bench and hugged Le Boss. Where naturally, everyone else came in and mobbed him. Love it! This is really goosebump material. I told you i’m incoherent now. *nods* We followed that up with a marvelous run by Theo Walcott on the right, where he got to a very very speculative pass and skipped pass one defender (possibly Ambrosini) and laid it off across the goalmouth for Adebayor, who didn’t miss this for the world and we made it 0-2 to the Arsenal with 2 minutes remaining in +4 injury time. This goal reminded me so much of the 5th goal when we were at the same ground playing Inter, Aliadere doing the deed.
Look at Phil, so happy! Our lads must be over the moon now. Christ i’m gonna have to leave you with that pic and i need to head to bed 🙂 Have a good day, Gooners. We love the Arsenal.

Meelan. Thoughts and Preview.

Guten Tag. It seems real life is inching over my attempts at writing and maintaining this blog. Pssh. If only blogging for Arsenal makes me some decent dough. If only. Anyway, moaning and griping aside there are a few things on my mind right now that i’d like to talk about during my lunch break.

After the weekend draw(a very close shave, i might add), signs are that our lads are priming themselves up for tonight’s match with Meelan. I believed that our lads were suffering from the heart-wrenching episode that was Birmingspam and that affected our performance greatly against Villa. Adebayor looked jaded, the overall movement of the team were great spurts of pace that lasted for 7 minutes at the start of each half. Diaby looked very very rusty (quite rightly so) and should have been substituted earlier. Walcott did not carry on where he left off from Birmingspam but there should be credit for the lad because we had to come back from an own goal which lead to Villa parking the bus for a good 60 minutes.

Tonight we attempt to shake all of that off with a visit to the San Siro. Coming off a very good performance at home in the first leg, albeit a scoreless draw, hopefully we have a European form that hiding in the corner like Dark Wing Duck.

Guess what, i was writing the last words of the previous line at 1423hrs and i was summoned to go out to the printers to deal with some shit. And now its 2113hrs. I’m not kidding when i say that my damn life is full of work now. Anyway, amazingly we have RVP back, running and we might have him on the bench tonight as well.

So…i’ve basically lost what i wanted to say this afternoon, and i’m so tired i want to just go home and nap before the damn game.

Sing for the Arsenal!

Good ‘morrow.

welcome to my rants or thoughts about most things Arsenal. you may return to the homepage by clicking on the banner. if you prefer to remain lost, you may do that as well.
